Improved UPSR and PMR results indicate NKRA on track

KUALA LUMPUR: The recent and much improved results of the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) are indications that the GTP’s NKRA on improving students’ learning outcomes are on track.

Over 10% of students who sat for the UPSR last year scored straight A’s while the PMR results had over 30,000 of 439,456 students scoring straight A’s, reportedly the best outcome in four years.

Overall, the national average grades have improved and the Government’s aim of 100 % literacy is on track.

The significant improvement is due to the hard work by the teachers and students under the creation of a more driven and progressive education system by the Education Ministry.

The Education NKRA in short is to ensure every child succeeds, setting the same high expectation for all students and providing them with assistance regardless of background.
