Ministry of Education should provide higher allocation to rural schools

BELURAN: The Ministry of Education should provide higher allocations to rural schools which were left behind in order to balance the rapidity of the schools in the urban areas.

Member of Parliament for Beluran, Datuk Ronald Kiandee said, it was in line with government efforts to transform the education in the rural areas.

He said the provision is much needed because there are still many rural schools which require additional buildings, equipment and upgrading of the existing facilities.

Thanks to the government for the allocation to the rural schools.

“Nevertheless, it was not enough and it needs additional provisions in order to benefit the teachers and students in the rural areas,” he said at the presentation ceremony of handing over early educational assistance aid at SK Kolapis here, yesterday.

Ronald, who is also the Dewan Rakyat deputy president added that for the rural schools in the Beluran district, the facility which must be given priorities are construction of rural hostels, increase of school buildings and teachers quarters.

He stressed that he will bring forward the problems faced by the said school to the Ministry of Education.
