The two cases were detected during screenings at the Labuan sea border involving a student from Sandakan and a tourist from Penampang in Sabah.

Dr Noor Hisham said eight of the eleven cases from the Patient-Under-Investigation (PUI) Sivagangga cluster had close contact with case 8,975, including a seven-year-old primary school pupil.

Case 8,975 is the first-generation case of the cluster.

He said all the new patients have been admitted to the Alor Setar Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for treatment and active case detection activities were being carried out by the district health office.
