LETTER: The years and decades continue to pass

Today Malaysia her 57th anniversary celebrates

The Merdeka new-borns are now senior citizens!

As it is often said how fast time flies!

Ups and downs have been the past decades

The Emergency, Confrontation and May 13 episodes

Guiding the country also were the 5-year plans

To date we have had 7 Prime Ministers

From 1957 it has been full of changes and challenges

Moving from agriculture to industries and services

Fast-tracking the nation from the 1990s onwards

To realize Vision 2020 and developed nation status

Transformation, KPIs and “Shared Prosperity” are today’s focus

And the nation looks to the 15th General Elections

Strong may remain the East-West ties

Blessed Birthday Malaysia and Many Happy Returns!
