A special photoshot was organized at Didi Childcare, SIDMA College, today. The program was held in conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka – Raya celebration on 30th and 31st August 2011. To bring out the atmosphere of Merdeka and Raya, children at the childcare, together with all the child minders were all dressed in traditional costume especially for the photo shot session. The childcare was also decorated with creatively made backdrop banners and flags to add to the mood of celebrating the festive season.

Some parents were present during the photo shot session and participated by carrying their own babies for the photoshot. Pn azlina Ngatimin, SIDMA board of Director, also turned up at the childcare and participated in the photo shooting session with her two children, Arthuro and Didi.

The atmosphere was exhilarating and fun as the children were able to play together with their friends as well as their parents during the session.

On behalf of Didi childcare, we would like to thank all parents for the special effort and support shown by specially dressing up their babies and toddlers to participate in the photo shot. Happy Merdeka and Selamat Hari Raya to all!

SIDMA College Launches its very own Childcare Centre.

APRIL 12TH, 2011(Tuesday) - SIDMA COLLEGE today launched its very own childcare center named “DIDI CHILDCARE CENTRE”. The opening of the new centre was officiated by YABhg Datin Seri Panglima Hjh Faridah Hj. Tussin, Chairman of BAKISA.

Also present at the ceremony were

YBhg Datuk Hajah Siti Sapoo Hj Ahok,
Director, Jabatan Hal Ehwal Wanita Sabah

Puan Hajah Maimunah Hj Suhaibul
Ibupejabat Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Sabah

Puan Anisah Saidin
Director, Tadika Kemas Sabah

Puan Mary Kiob
President, Persatuan TASKA Sabah

Encik William Sampil
Penampang District Officer

Other relevant officials in the government and private sectors Parents and Students.

Datin Seri Panglima Hjh Faridah, in her speech said she is appreciative of the efforts of SIDMA College in providing space for setting up a childcare at the workplace which will benefit the staff who have small babies and kids as they would not be able to work if not for such facilities provided by their employers. Datin Seri was delighted to note that having a facility such as this (available) for employees indeed carries positive connotation, and is something for other organizations to emulate. The apparent trend or need of both parents to have their own careers, has more or less left parents with little choice but to send their children to a childcare center. This is where facility such as DIDI Childcare Centre becomes useful.

She reiterated on the importance of child care in terms of early learning experiences that help build social skills and developing learning abilities, which in the long run, provide social and economic benefits for both the parents and the children.

In his speech, Prof Dr Morni Kambrie, CEO of SIDMA College, explained that Didi Childcare Centre was established exclusively for the children of staff and married students in SIDMA College; a place to send their children to while they are at work or school. Among others, Didi Childcare Centre aims to provide quality childcare and education for children aged between 3months to 4 years old. Adding on, Prof Dr Morni elaborated that students who undertake Diploma in Early Childhood can undergo their practicum training in this centre. For these students, it would definitely be an advantage –an avenue for them to have hands-on experiences and exposures on how a TASKA is being managed.

The establishment of DIDI CHILDCARE CENTRE is no doubt is a win- win situation – for SIDMA College, parents and students.

In closing his speech, Dr Morni expressed his sincere gratitude to YABhg Datin Seri Faridah for her willingness to officiate the centre. He also thanked all invited guests for taking the time out of their busy schedules to attend this event.
